CSA 2010 - What Drivers Need to Know!!

Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010 (CSA 2010) is a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) initiative designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Agency's enforcement and compliance program.

How will this change affect drivers?

  • Unsafe carrier and driver behaviors that lead to crashes will be indentified and addressed.
  • All safety-based roadside inspection violations count, NOT just out-of-service (OOS) violations.
  • Drivers will be more accountable for safe on-road performance.

What can drivers do to prepare for the change?

  • Know and follow safety rules and regulations.  Go to our 'List of Links' page for FMCSA driving tips!
  • Become knowledgable about the new Behavior Analysis & Safety Improvement Categories (BASICS)
  • Keep copies of inpection reports
  • Learn about employer's safety records
  • Visit the CSA 2010 Website:  http://csa2010.fmcsa.dot.gov

CSA 2010 is expected to go live in November 2010.  FTT will have a safety meeting concerning the CSA 2010 in the near future!
